Digital Fortress

This past few weeks, I’ve been under the Harry Potter fever. I’ve decided to read the fifth Potter book before the movie trailer comes out. But then, I become fully immersed (again) in Rowling’s world that I’ve finished the book before the deadline that I have set. I thought I’m gonna finish it 20 days given that I’m reading the book…an e-book actually…in the computer. Surprisingly, I finished it in 5 days and got to move on to the next book: The Half-Blood Prince.

The story of book 5 and 6 has been spoiled to me. I already knew who dies but at least I don’t know who killed them. The identity of the half-blood prince has been spoiled by those-who-didn’t-care-to-those-who-haven’t-read-the-book. I read Harry Potter books because:

• It’s entartaining.
• It’s one of the few books that I felt worth reading. (I’m not into books before…I actually read only the popular ones)
• So that I’m not going to be lost in the movie.
• So that I can read anything about Harry Potter without being spoiled…in other words, I can safely ignore those: SPOILER WARNING signs.

So far, Book 3 (Azkaban) is STILL my favorite among the six books. (The Azkaban movie is also my favorite among the four.) I felt that Book 5 is way too long. Even Rowling thinks that it could have been much shorter. I think the events at the end of Book 5 is anti-climactic though. Seems to me that Rowling was forced to have an action scene in the end (the one with the Death Eaters and D.A.) But still, I think the ‘prophecy’ thing is what saved the book. Not to mention that Umbridge teacher. She’s my favorite Hogwarts teacher next to Snape. And now I can’t wait for the next book!

After the events at the end of Book 6. I still believe that Dumbledore is not yet dead. I’m one of those that believe that Dumbledore-Snape conspiracy. I still believe that Snape is on our side. Just check out this website: www.DumbledoreIsNotDead.com
