CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY

Buti na lang at nagkaroon pa ako ng chance na makanood ng Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in Glorietta last Saturday. Dami pa rin tao kahit patapos na yung showing. Wala ako masabi kaya late na yung review ko… As in wala akong talaga akong masabi dahil ang galing-galing ni director Tim Burton. He’s a genius. He can direct a Harry Potter movie and will certainly make the series better. 

At first, I thought Johnny Depp was a bit disturbing here…Tingnan mo naman kasi yung itsura nya don..but it turned out that Depp’s Wonka is brilliant. Mysterious and funny. Excellent! Not to forget that the young Charlie Bucket as well as Danny Elfman’s score are excellent too…

I really enjoyed this film. Siguro nakatulong yung hindi ko alam yung novel at hindi ko pa napapanood yung Gene Wilder version back in the 70’s. That way, walang comparison ang nangyari. The 70’s version “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” will be aired at Studio 23 next week…hmmm…something to look forward to..

Hay…buti na lang nakaabot pa ako sa theatrical showing nito…At least nakalimot ako sa mga school projects ko (lalo na yung Compiler Theory na yan) for about 2 hours.
