Digital Fortress

I was introduced in the world of blogging (by Ailen) way back in May 2004. By that time, I wasn’t a frequent blogger. Not until Ava (Skwayred) dropped into my site and said “Padaan lang”….(I lost the exact date, basta April 2005)

 

 

Syempre, I was a bit excited knowing that someone had visited my blog. I quickly clicked on the link (rhyme: quick, click and link..hehe) and found myself on Ava’s very popular site. It was hosted by Geocities and becomes “dot ewikis” and now “dot info”.

I fell in love with Ava’s site. Her posts are very interesting, informative and at times funny. And because of that, there’s no doubt that she have lots of “loyal” fans. When I say loyal, eto yung mga tao na hindi nawawala ang mga comment sa isang post ni Ava. The numbers of comments on each of her entries are the proof of the blog’s popularity and those numbers keep on growing. Sayang nga dahil hindi ko nasimulan yung blog niya. I mean, parang late tuner na ako.
And of course, like any other visitors in her blog, I began to wonder what does she look like. There’s a picture in her site but it’s unrecognizable. Di ko nga alam kung tao yun o hayop (joke!). And I asked her one day kung bakit ayaw nyang magpakita and her response is quite safe…she said na it doesn’t matter daw kung pinakita nya yung face nya o hindi. Okay. Bahala siya. I already got her point. Fine. Hindi ko na pipilitin. May advantage din naman kasi yung ganun e. The person becomes more and more interesting and mysterious and? I keep being curious about her. I tried to add her in Friendster but she insists that she only add friends na kakilala nya lang sa tunay na buhay. Ok, no problem….kung sa bagay, bloggers only meet in the virtual world of the web kaya wala talaga kaming lugar sa Friendster ni Ava.
Basta ang alam ko lang sa kanya ay isa syang ComSci student like me, na ayaw pumatay ng maliit na hayop, gusto nyang maging scientist, a Star Wars fan, introvert, mahilig maglaro ng games na gawa ng Squaresoft, mahilig sumayd-line, mahiyain and just a person who wants to express her thoughts through blogging. That is why I nominated her in The Philippine Blog Awards which I hope she wins kahit isang category or even nominated in one of the categories. 
I recommended her site to my friend Jong and he too “fell in love” with Ava’s blog. I told him, na nauna pa ako sa kanya na ma-in-love sa blog ni Ava. And yun nga, loyal fan na rin siya ni Ava.
Today is Ava’s birthday. And I dedicate this post to her (obvious ba?). I know she’ll be reading this soon. I know that because every single post I made (since I knew her), have Ava’s comment on it. Wish ko lang sa kanya na sana lahat ng wish niya sa sarili nya (at sa buong mundo) ay matupad nya like being a scientist, astronaut at iba pa, just fill in the blanks for 5 more wishes: _____________, ____________, _______________, ______________ and ____________.
