Digital Fortress

I’ve read the book years ago?from my?high school?friend (Jardy). Actually, it’s the compressed version of the story. Kayang-kayang basahin in one hour. All I can remember is that the Martians died because they can’t adapt to the environment of the Earth. Now in this Spielberg’s version, the aliens are not Martians. Syempre, alam nating lahat na wala naman palang Martians sa Mars so they change the story a little bit.

This is better than any disaster movies that I’ve seen. Independence Day is just a showcase of special effects. War of the Worlds is spectacular adaptation of HG Wells’ classic. It’s really heart-pounding and will really keep you at the edge of your seats. The difference of this movie form other disaster movies is the personal story. It’s from a father’s point of view. There are no politicians, presidents and chief of staffs in this movie. All is told in the eyes of an ordinary man, so we can all relate to these characters.

Dakota Fanning is great. She’s can really act well. Her screams make the hair on your back stand. Spielberg did a great job in keeping the suspense. Near the climax, I was really terrified. I have no idea what will happen next. It was really suspenseful. The alien sounds are creepy and haunting.

Yung mga classmates ko, napangitan sa War of the Worlds. Ewan ko sa kanila…Ano bang gusto nila? The traditional US. Army-exterminates-the-aliens scene? Or the common destroy-the-mothership scenario previously seen on ID4 and Phantom Menace??Edi?manood kayo?uli ng ID4…Ayaw ba nila nun? Different ending? Tulad ng Kill Bill 2 na walang swordfight between Bill and The Bride. Usap lang sila. In 5 seconds patay na si Bill. The characters took over the climax noth the special effects.

Basta ako, nagustuhan ko yung?special effects, some humor,?the dramatic scenes, the Father and daughter and son relationship, the music by John Williams, Miranda Otto (Eowyn from Lord of the Rings)?and the surprise cameo by Spongebob Squarepants! (Episode: The Secret Box).

Also, you will be reminded of Tim Robbins character from Shawshank Redemption. Kasi parang inulit ni Tim Robbins yung character nya from the movie e. Naghukay uli siya ng tunnel..hehe. Basta..
(Sabi ng babae sa likod namin…ayan na si Robin Williams!…ay si Tim Robbins pala…)

Although there are some illogical things going on sa simula ng movie…I’ll give it a 9.
Eto ang movie na may emotional at visual impact at the same time.

Sa wakas, nakita ko na King Kong trailer on the big screen!
Well, based on my perceptions, the trailer of King Kong was well received by the audience. Proof: Sabay-sabay nilang binasa yung word na “KING KONG” after the trailer, tapos biglang umingay! Hehe…keep up the good work, Peter Jackson and co.! Good luck sa post production! Astig!
