Napanood ko na ang GARFIELD: THE MOVIE!

 

 

 

 

 

 

I love cats that’s why I didn’t hesitate to accept the offer of my sister to watch his favorite cat…Garfield! Libre naman e…why not? So we went to Festival last Saturday (Aug 7) and watched it. I know Garfiedl since Grade 3 (eto yung game na pinalalaro sa amin ng teacher namin sa Computer class…cut and paste the objects….) and I have watched it when it was at Channel 9 at 5PM (dati pa yun)….?

I’ve read reviews of Garfield on the internet and I knew that it was a bad movie. They say that this is the worst year for cats…(Catwoman and Garfield)….Well, I don’t agree with them.
Being a cat lover, a totally love the movie. And I think the whole family will enjoy it. And the only people who won’t enjoy this are those people who hate the world with all their heart. Don’t expect it to be a very heartwarming story with loads of lessons to be learned but? just an entertaining movie that will help you forget the world that awaits just outside the theater.
Garfield is cute and charming. The voice of Bill Murray (Charlie’s Angel, Lost in Translation) fits the character. He’s fat and lazy and loves to eat and watch.? I laughed at the part where Garfield is watching (and dancing) the music video of “Hey Mama” from the Black Eyed Peas (our very own APL got a close-up).
Jennifer Love Hewitt doesn’t look good in this movie though. But Garfield is very realistic. The special effects are convincing but there are few times where you can pinpoint the thin line between the animated Garfield and the real person. I mean tumatagos yung kamay ng taong humawak kay Garfield. This is just a small flaw and it doesn’t affect the whole quality of special effects… :-)
I just wonder why Odie the dog can not speak…but the other dogs and animals can…maybe the filmmakers don’t want Odie to steal Garfield’s screentime and want Garfield to do a lot of speaking and it’s good because Garfield is the star of this movie and this is all about his world. And besides Odie looks cute if he can’t speak and just dance!

Note: He didn’t even wear the sunglasses that he used to wear in the poster and trailer….
Overall: The best cat movie I’ve seen so far.
